CARPS-CS
The Centre for Applied Research and Policy Studies Community Service (CARPS-CS) of Dili Institute of Technology (DIT) is a research center unit focus to build expertise and undertake applied research and policy studies in the many disciplines through the mechanisms of education, research, and technology transfer to develop research capacity to manage, and execute educationally relevant, business and technology sound research projects.
The mission of CARPS-CS DIT is to build expertise and undertake applied research and policy studies in the many disciplines through the mechanisms of education, research, and technology transfer. We encourage and promote partnerships to develop research capacity and capabilities of our community to acquire, manage, and execute educationally relevant, business and technology sound research projects.
The CARPS-CS in close collaboration with School of Business and Management, Tourism and Hospitality, Engineering and Science and Petroleum Studies has provided the research paper and reports including: The UN’s Role in Timor-Leste Post-Conflict Local Governance Capacity Building, Survey 2003, founded by CIDA; Labored Market Survey, 2004, founded by the World Bank; National Youth Survey, 2005, founded by UNICEF; Timorese Youth Perceptions on HIV/AIDS Survey, 2006-2007, founded by UNICEF and Ministry of Healthy RDTL; Survey on Enterprise Needs of Skills, 2008, founded by SEFOPE RDTL; Survey on Public Perception on the AID of the United States of American to Timor-Leste, 2009, founded by USAID; Timor-Leste National Strategic Development Plan Survey, 2009, founded by the Office of Primer Minister of RDTL; National Health Sector Strategic Plan Support Project, Health Worker Survey, (2014) cooperation between CARPS-CS DIT and Oxford Policy Management (OPM), founded by the Word Bank; International Conference On Emergent Tourism Destinations (Icetd) The 2nd Conference, 2019, founded by USAID Tourism for All and DIT; Staff Engagement Survey, 2020, founded by KAEBAUK investimento no Financas .
CARPS-CS DIT has qualified staff with Doctorate degree in the areas related to the activities. The staff to be involved in the research are: DR. Estanislau S. Saldanha, DR. Alvaro Menezes Amaral, DR. João Boavida da Cruz, Tereza Freitas Belo, Ph.D, DR. Belandia Graciana and DR. Helio Brites.
To facilitate the publication of lecturers and researchers, CARPS-CS DIT has developed 2 electronic journals, namely the Timor-Leste Journal of Business and Management (TLJBM) and the Timor-Leste Journal of Engineering and Science (TLJES). The journals are a Peer-Review, Open-access journal published by Dili Institute of Technology. Indexed by Google Scholar, Directory Open Access Journal, PKP Index and Crossref Metadata. TLJBM was founded in December 19, 2019 while TELJES was in December 22, 2020. TLJBM has published 20 articles in 3 volumes while TLJES has 10 articles in 2 volumes.
