Goals Department of Tour and Travel Management:

In reaching its mission, the Tour and Travel Department has six learning goals. Graduates of the Tour and Travel Management Licentiate program will be able to:

1. Demonstrate broad knowledge and proficiency in the core functions and support areas of the business of Tour and Travel (Marketing Management, Tour Planner, Tour Guiding, Airlines Staff, Destination Planning, Entrepreneurship and Event Organizer or MICE);

2. Demonstrate specific competence in a variety of operational aspects within the Tour and Travel industry;

3. Demonstrate effective written and oral communication skills;

4. Incorporate an understanding of ethical, social, and legal issues in reaching tourism business-related decisions;

5. Creatively and critically apply their knowledge and technological skills in identifying and solving problems of tourism business and industry;

6. Acquire the desire to engage in long-life learning, as demonstrated by ongoing personal and professional tourism development.

Objectives Department of Tour and Travel Management:

Based on these goals, the objectives of the Tour and Travel Management Licentiate Program are to:

1. Provide knowledge and skills in Tour and Travel industry to graduates in meeting high competencies and competitiveness at the national and global level;

2. Offer knowledge and comprehension to graduates in core business functional areas of Tour and Travel industry;

3. Provide professional quality written communication and deliver professional quality oral presentation in English language;

4. Offer ability to plan, manage, develop and market a community-based tourism destination;

5. Provide appropriate analytical techniques to a given business problem, generate and compare alternatives and develop a solution;

6. Provide knowledge and skills in leadership and team work

7. Offer the skills of analyzing and evaluating the application of various business software including spreadsheets, databases etc.

Learning Outcomes and Competencies:

The following describes the Tour and Travel Management program outcomes and their related assessment process as follows (Knowledge):

Effectively identify and assess the legal risks associated with common tour and travel management practices events and identify appropriate risk management techniques and employment practices to minimize those risks.

Demonstrate a broad knowledge of the following aspects of Tour and Travel Management: Marketing Management, Tour Planner, Tour Guiding, Airline Staff, Destination Planning, Entrepreneurship and Event Organizer (MICE).

3. Understand the principles of management in Hotel industry.

The following describes program outcomes and their related assessment process as follows (Skills):

Demonstrate a broad knowledge of the following aspects of Tour and Travel Management: Marketing Management, Tour Planner, Tour Guiding, Airline Staff, Destination Planning, Entrepreneurship and Event Organizer (MICE).

The following describes program outcomes and their related assessment process as follows (Attitude):

1. Ability to understand and employee effective communication, professional and ethical responsibility;

2. Ability to critical identify interdisciplinary issues and provide relevant and effective solutions to the problem in the tourism industries.

3. Ability to work in team, multi-cultural to working environment, and deliver work on time.

4. Creative and innovative ability to find new ideas, skills and solution to the social, economic, and security issues in tourism industries.
